Program Overview

This series of interactive and informative workshops helps parents learn about the what to expect and watch out for with speech and language development for their baby or toddler, as well as implement simple and practical activities and strategies with their child to enhance speech and language development. The workshops are underpinned by contemporary research and evidence about speech and language development for babies and toddlers.


When?

The next series of workshops will run in November 2018, as outlined below.


4-12 MONTHS - WHAT IS LANGUAGE?

Discusses the five components of language and ideas of how to help your infant create language

Who: Parents of infants 4-12 months

When: Nov 8th @ 10:30-11:30am

How much: $20 (both parents and infant can attend)

Location: Unit 21, 363 Hillsborough Rd, Warners Bay 


12-18 MONTHS - WHAT IS A WORD?

Defines what a word is and includes ideas of how to help your infant learn how to learn more words and how to use them.

Who: Parents of infants 12-18 months

When: Nov 15th @ 10:30-11:30am

How much: $20 (both parents and infant can attend)

Location: Unit 21, 363 Hillsborough Rd, Warners Bay 


18-24 MONTHS - WHAT IS A SENTENCE?

Explains how toddlers put words together and ideas of how to naturally encourage your toddler to expand into sentences.

Who: Parents of infants 18-24 months

When: Nov 22nd @ 10:30-11:30am

How much: $20 (both parents and infant can attend)

Location: Unit 21, 363 Hillsborough Rd, Warners Bay


Who is it for?  

Parents or carers of babies or toddlers aged between 4 months and 24 months old. All parents/carers, babies/toddlers and siblings are welcome. It is important that at the baby/toddler attends in addition to at least one parent/carer.


What can I expect from the workshop? 

  • Understand ways of incorporating language into everyday routine
  • An interactive presentation and discussion by the facilitator
  • Opportunities to ask specific questions related to your baby/toddler
  • Social time with other mums and babies
  • A spacious workshop room for practical activities
  • Tea, coffee and snacks
  • Takeaway information on language milestones


About the facilitator...   

Traci is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 20 years experience working with children and their families. Traci has vast research experience to compliment her global practice experience, illustrating her commitment to evidence based therapy and being connected to the latest possibilities for new and effective interventions.


How much does it cost?

Any single workshop costs $20, which allows for participation of both parents/carers and the baby/toddler. We require payment prior to the event to secure your spot. Group sizes are capped and spaces are limited, so register as soon as you can.
